When you come in, we’ll examine your tooth and take any needed X-rays. After numbing the area for comfort, we’ll remove any decay or old fillings and gently shape your tooth so a crown will fit securely.
Instead of messy moulds, we use our CEREC intra-oral scanner to take a detailed 3D digital image of your prepared tooth and surrounding teeth — this is part of the CEREC 3D crown process.
Using that scan, our team designs your custom crown right then and there. We’ll match the shape, size and colour so it fits comfortably and blends naturally with your smile.
With the design approved, our milling machine carves your crown from ceramic, composite or zirconia blocks right in our clinic — usually within minutes — so you don’t have to wait for a lab. This is how we deliver a true same day crown.
